Alaska Halibut Royale

This recipe came from a flight attendant John flew with, she said it was a wonderful and we had to try it. IT WAS GREAT!!! Thank you Pat.


# 1 cup dry white wine (We use our box of Chardonnay we keep for the clams)
#2 t salt
# 1 & 1/2 lbs Alaska halibut steaks, thawed
#1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
#1/2 cup each sour cream & mayonnaise
#1/4 cup minced green onions


Combine wine & salt; pour over halibut. Marinate in refrigerator at least 1 hour. Drain halibut on paper towels; dip both sides in bread crumbs. Place halibut in shallow buttered baking dish. Combine sour cream, mayonnaise & green onions; spread over halibut. Sprinkle w/ paprika. Bake at 450 F for 10 minutes per inch of thickness, measured at the thickest part, or until halibut flakes when tested with a fork. Makes 4 servings.
